Botox vs. Dermal Fillers

Dr. Annie Gonzalez, Dermatologist with Sunset Dermatology, explains the difference between botox and dermal fillers. “Botox is in the category of narrow modulators, substances that we inject into the skin, particularly into the muscle. That is how we make the facial expressions, they help to weaken the contraction of the muscles of the overlying skin.”

About fillers, she says they are a completely different category. These are different substances that we inject under the skin, in order to increase volume to improve the appearance of the wrinkles.
