Hearing and Vision Loss in the Elderly




Dr. Brenda Daniels, Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine Physician with Baptist Health South Florida, explains as people age, they lose a little bit of vision and hearing, but it is a normal part of aging. “You need to identify these things so that we can appropriately adjust and compensate them. If you cannot see, that is a potential cause for a fall.”

She also says walkers and canes have specific uses and it depends on how much strength you have to determine which type is for you.
