Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted disease in the United States. Dr. Alberto Sirven, Medical Director of the West Kendall OB/GYN Program and Women and Infant Credentials Committee Chairman with West Kendall Baptist Hospital, explains it is associated with cervical cancer, venereal warts, and throat cancer.

He also points out the importance of spreading the information about this infection, because in a lot of developing countries, HPV and cervical cancer are the number one cause of women’s death.
