Dr. Alexis Perera, Urgent Care Physician at Baptist Health, defines primary care physician as a very important person that takes care of the patient’s blood sugar, blood pressure track, does all the medical screenings, mammograms and colonoscopies.

The specialist explains if the person doesn’t think he is in a life-threatening situation, then he can go to the Urgent Care. “We can take care of minor emergencies, pediatric patients, any illnesses,” he says.
