In terms of length, women start worrying when their period lasts more than a week, because of the blood loss, especially if it’s a girl, because they star becoming anemic and symptomatic, affirms Dr. Alejandra Salazar, Obstetrician and Gynecologist with Baptist Health South Florida.
However, the specialist says at the beginning it’s normal if girls will have periods for about 14 or 15 days. It should be regulated in the first five years.
She advises being alert after 40 if there is any irregularity in the menstrual period.
