Dr. Alberto Sirven, Medical Director of the West Kendall OB/GYN Program and Women and Infant Credentials Committee Chairman with West Kendall Baptist Hospital, says it is a myth that only women get Human Papillomavirus (HPV). “The thing with men is that it is hard to diagnose and test them, but of course men get HPV”.

Other myths are that all HPV strains cause cancer; men can get screened for HPV, there are treatment options available for HPV, and people with HPV always have symptoms.
