WE HAVE SYMPTOMS OF LUMBAR STRAIN, AND WE ARE GOING TO USE THIS MODEL TO EXPLAIN WHAT SYMPTOMS YOU MIGHT BE FEELING. THE FIRST MIGHT BE SUDDENLY WERE BACK PAIN. WHAT AREA DID YOU SAY THAT WAS THE LOWER? THE LOWER FIVE VERTEBRAE. YOU CAN SEE THIS ONE IS ABOVE THE TAILBONE. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. THIS COMPRISES THE LUMBAR SPINE. AND THERE’S OTHER SYMPTOMS, SPASMS AND THE LOWER BACK THAT RESULT IN MORE SEVERE IF THERE IS A STRAIN IN THE MUSCLE, THAT RESULTS IN THE MUSCLE CONTRACTING AND CAUSING SPASMS. SO IT IS TIGHT, IT FEELS FULL. WHEN YOU TOUCH IT, IT IS PAINFUL AND THEN YOU CAN’T MOVE AND MANY PEOPLE ARE BENT FORWARD BECAUSE THEY CAN’T STRAIGHTEN UP BECAUSE OF THE SPASMING IN THE MUSCLE NOT ONLY IN THE BACK OF THE SPINE BACK HERE IN THE LUMBAR REGION BUT THERE ARE LARGE MUSCLES WITHIN THE PELVIS HERE THAT CONNECT THE SPINE TO THE BASE OF THE PELVIS OR INTO THE LEG AND THOSE ARE CALLED ILIACUS MUSCLES THOSE ARE THE ONES YOU BEND WITH AND SO THESE ARE REALLY IMPORTANT TOO AND THAT’S WHAT CAUSES PEOPLE TO BEND FORWARD WHEN THEY’ER IN SUDDEN SPASM OF THE MUSCLES AND THEN THE LAST SYMPTOMN THAT YOU MIGHT FEEL WITH A LUMBAR STRAIN IS THAT THE LOWER BACK FEELS SORE TO THE TOUCH SO EVEN JUST A SUDDEN TOUCH A LITTLE MOVEMENT CAN BE HORRIFIC ABSOLUTELY PEOPE CAN FIND A POSITION OF COMFORT WHEN THEY HAVE THESE MUSCLES STRAINED AND SO WHAT HAPPENS IS THEY ARE VERY TENDER WHEN THEY TRY TO STRAIGHTEN UP THEY’RE VERY PAINFUL AND WHEN THEY TRY TO PUSH IT ON OR THEY GO TO SEE THEIR DOCTOR AND THEY PALPATE IT WITH THEIR FINGERS IT FEELS VERY TENDER TO PALPATION IT’S VERY TENDER.
