The Causes of Stroke




There are two types of strokes. The most common is the ischemic stroke, when a blood vessel in the brain gets blocked. The other type is hemorrhagic stroke, which can be a bleeding into the brain caused by high blood pressure or other types of hammers in the brain.

Dr. Guilherme Dabus, Director of the Interventional Neuroradiology Fellowship Program with Baptist Health Neuroscience Center, explains cardiovascular prevention is important for preventing ischemic stroke.
