Dr. Daniel Martinez, Urologist with Baptist Health South Florida, says not all prostate cancer needs to be treated. It depends on the patient, the age, and the type of cancer. Most men will die with the prostate cancer rather than of the prostate cancer. He points out the key is to find those who are going to have a complication from the prostate cancer, who can potentially die, or who can have a decrease in the quality of life to be treated.
