Type 2 Diabetes




Type 2 diabetes is the most common disease. According to Lois Exelbert, Nurse Diabetes Educator and Patient Care Manager with Baptist Hospital of Miami, 90 % of individuals have type 2 diabetes, which is the most complicated disease.
Type 2 diabetes usually occurs after the age of 40, and appearance of signs & symptoms are gradual. Other characteristics are: pancreas is still producing insulin not enough, and the body may not recognize the insulin (insulin resistance).
The expert says type 2 diabetes is a very complicated process which is why there are so many different types of medications for treating it. **************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
