Dr. Ileana Perez-Quintairos, Dermatologist with Baptist Health South Florida, explains to determine what a patient’s skin type is they look for the shine on the skin, how much oil or sebum is there.
She says if the skin is dull, there is an issue with sebum production, the sensitivity and the protective layer. They also look for the thickness of the skin and how many pores the skin has and the size of those pores.
