Urinalysis vs. Urine Culture |

“Urinalysis (UA) is a test that gives a lot of different information about urine, says Dr. Daniel Martinez, Urologist with Baptist Health South Florida.
The doctor says this test can reveal if the patient has blood in their urine, whether the patient has any sort of inflammatory cells indicative of infections or cancer, provides information about protein which is indicative of kidney disease or other different things that are necessary to treat.
The expert also explains the urine culture is more specific to infection. It tells if there’s any bacteria and what type of bacteria it is. Incontinence also can be indicative of other systemic diseases.
Urodynamic testing is a study that can evaluate the function and dynamics of the urinary tract, he says.”
