Surgeries during Storms

Dr. Sergio Segarra, Chief Medical Officer with Baptist Hospital of Miami, explains during a storm they avoid any type of elective surgery, even one or two days before, because people do not want to be recuperating during a storm. "We had a significant number of cancellations before the storm, and during the storm, we only did emergency surgeries. We only did emergency surgeries during that time and for the next couple of days until we were on the stable electrical."
