Causes of Chronic Appendicitis

Any obstruction of the inside of the appendix sets patients up for appendicitis, according to Dr. Juan Sola, Chief of Pediatric Surgery at Baptist Children's Hospital. The expert says chronic appendicitis is very rare, but it does happen. For a correct diagnosis, he advises doing endoscopy and other tests. Jennifer Couceyro, Advanced Registered Nurses Practitioner with Baptist Children’s Hospital, says parents could be very concerned if they've come from their pediatrician and they are told it could be appendicitis.
