Pelvic Exam For Women

The pelvic exam helps define if a woman is free of tumors or any other complication in the vagina area, says Dr. Anaisys Ballesteros, Family Medicine Physician with Baptist Health Primary Care. She also explains Pap smear is a screening test for cervical cancer and it's detecting abnormal cells in the cervix, such as HPV (Human Papillomavirus). The specialist advises having the pap smear exam annually or every six months.
