What Is A Physician Assistant?

A Physician Assistant (P.A.) can: take medical histories, conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illness, order and interpret tests and develop treatment plans. The P. A. also can prescribe medicine, perform procedures, assist in surgery and make rounds in hospitals and nursing homes too. Tanya Patron, Physician Assistant with Miami Plastic Surgery, says the P.A. can give the patients the early appointment time when the doctor's schedule is full.
