Types of Sarcomas

Liposarcomas, leiomyosarcomas, synovial sarcomas, angiosarcomas, fibrosarcomas, and gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are some types of sarcomas. Dr. Ramon Jimenez, Chief of Melanoma and Soft Tissue Sarcoma Surgery with Miami Cancer Institute, explains the liposarcomas are arising from the fatty tissues, and they can happen in the back of the abdomen and in many other places. He also says synovial sarcomas are arising from the lining of your joints (the knee, the wrist, the shoulder, etc.).
