Sleep apnea & Inspired Device

Dr. Rolando Molina, Otolaryngologist with Baptist Health South Florida, shows a battery device, with wires that are tunneled underneath the patient’s skin and they are attached to the nerve that goes to the tongue. The battery has a half-life about 10 years, and it’s programmed after it is set in by the pulmonologist to determine how much stimulation each particular patient needs. Each device is programmed particularly to each patient’s needs.
