What Does Cracking Neck Mean?

Neck cracking or cracking neck is a sign of nitrogen bubbles being developed in the joints and it’s nothing to worry about, affirms Dr. Jose Mena, Interventional Spine Specialist with Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute. However the specialist says it’s different when someone has an incident an then the neck cracks, because it can mean the ligaments are injured and they can develop a chronic condition. Dr. Mena describes when a car accident occurs, the most common things that get affected are two joints in the neck: between the 5th and 6th and between the 2nd and 3rd.
