Breastfeeding Positions

Cradle position, cross-cradle position, football hold, laid-back position, and side lying are some of the positions for breastfeeding. Jacquelyn Garcia, Lactation Nurse with the Center for Women and Infants at South Miami Hospital, says it is better to start with the football hold, because the mom still has the pregnant belly and when they put the baby across, they are kind of lopsided. She also explains breastfeeding could be every two hours, but there is no routine, it is as often as the baby wants.
