Dr. John Diaz, Gynecologic Oncologist with Miami Cancer Institute, affirms the management of cancer (surgery, chemotherapy, radiation) can impact the patientsâ€™ future fertility. He considers, in cases of young patients, to address at the same time their cancer treatment and their survivorship after it. Elina Melik-Levine, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with Miami Cancer Institute, says she reviews the plan of care with the patient and discusses with him all the possibilities in order to preserve fertility if he wants a family in the future.
