Types of Hearing Loss

There are two types of hearing loss: conductive and sensorineural, explains Dr. Peter Volsky, Otolaryngologist with Baptist Health South Florida. Dr. Volsky explains chronic otitis media is essentially a middle ear disease coming from after-effects of childhood ear diseases that weren’t treated, or adults with eardrum perforated or something called cholesteatoma: a cyst that grows in the ear.
