Anxiety Disorders: Phobia

Some of the anxiety disorders have physiological and cognitive components. The phobia occurs when those components are worsened by the behavior component, explains Dr. Paula Levine, psychologist and founding director of the Miami Advisory Resource Center. Dr. Levine describes the process of phobias. She says most patients cannot control phobias. Phobias are gradual and turn into a panic attack, says the specialist.
