Hearing Loss & Age

Hearing loss is very common with aging. Presbycusis is one of the most common types of hearing loss affecting adults older than 70 years, says Dr. Peter Volsky, Otolaryngologist with Baptist Health South Florida. The specialist also talks about other factors such as toxic exposures, medication, radiation, chemotherapy and genetic factors. However, age is the most common type of sensory neural hearing loss.
