Dementia And Healthy Life

A healthy diet is the best way to prevent diseases like dementia. Dr. Brad Herskowitz, Neurologist at Baptist Health Neuroscience, does not recommend drinking a lot of soft drinks (either regular or artificially sweetened) or alcohol. The specialist mentions an article published in the Journal Stroke suggesting that the people who drank artificially sweetened beverages had a higher risk incidence of stroke and dementia. He recommends the Mediterranean diet. Although some consider that moderate consumption of red wine may favor the brain, he does not recommend to drink alcohol.
