Types of Female Incontinence
Dr. Barbara Montford, President of the Dade County Medical Association, says female incontinence occurs when you do not have enough support in your pelvic floor and you have a leaky urethra, it also can happen to patients who have had strokes or multiple sclerosis, and who have problems in terms of obstruction to the flow.
She explains urination is a controlled effort, in which the bladder has to fill passively and once you get a critical point where the capacity of the bladder has been reached, then the muscles need to squeeze in order to eliminate the urine.
