Preventing Heart Disease

Dr. Tarak Rambhatla, Cardiovascular Specialist with Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute, explains there is a field of cardiology called preventive cardiology to come up with a coordinated approach and management plan to lower the risk of developing heart disease. He says sometimes patients do not realize they are having symptoms until they bring it out of them. In the office, they talk about social history for assessing risk factors, like if they are smoking or their family history.
