Know If You Have Sleep Problems
Timothy Grant, Medical Director of Baptist Sleep Center at Baptist Outpatient Services, has a list of questions to ask your bed partner to determine if you have sleep problems. Some of the questions are: do you snore or stopped breathing while asleep?; do you have restless legs?, do you act out your dreams? and do you exhibit violent behavior in sleep? If you have some of these things, he recommends seeing a sleep specialist.
He also says there are diseases associated with sleep disorders, such as heart disease, cardiovascular disease, irregular heart rhythms, hypertension, high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes, and depression.
