Dr. Moraima Trujillo, Chief Medical Officer with Banyan Health, says 800,000 people commit suicide every year in the world, and for each one of those patients there are 20 that make an attempt and survive a suicidal episode. She highlights suicide is an epidemic of major proportions. She explains patients need to identify the situation so they can be treated. She points out there is very good available treatment to treat depression, psychiatric disorders, and substance abuse disorders before they feel there is no way out and end their life.
