Dr. Italo Linfante, Medical Director of Interventional Neuroradiology and Endovascular Neurosurgery with Baptist Health Neuroscience Center, explains that interventional radiology is a new specialty in neurosurgery and radiology in which minimally invasive techniques are used to treat brain diseases, in particular those that affect the brain vessels. "The technique that we have nowadays is minimally invasive, so there is no brain exposure, and we have less complications,” Dr. Linfante explains.
