Dementia is a disorder that can affect not only the patients, but also their relatives.
Dr. Milton Jimenez, Primary care Physician with West Kendall Baptist Hospital, explains the first symptom of dementia is decreasing memory. “Most of the time is not noticed by the patient self, but someone in the family," he says.
Age, type 2 diabetes, stroke and depression are risk factors, the specialist affirms.
