"Surgery is really what we do when we haven't been able to treat the pain," he points out and explains a hip replacement can be done when a patient breaks their hip at the femoral neck, which is the connection between the rest of the femur and the ball and socket that's moving.
The doctor also highlights this replacement allows the patient to get up right away and it is an implant that restores their stability.
