Treating Hair Loss Patterns

Dr. Anthony Bared, Facial Plastic Surgeon with Baptist Health South Florida, explains if the hair loss is not related to genetics, like scarring alopecia, those patients can be treated typically with anti-inflammatory medications, and steroids to at least control the type of hair loss pattern. He says they need to rule out those hair loss patterns before considering surgical procedure, such as a hair restoration procedure or a transplant, because in some cases the patients are not amenable to transplant procedure.
