Hepatitis C: Risk Factors

Hemodialysis patients, recipients of clotting factor concentrates before 1987, patients with persistently abnormal alanine aminotransferase levels, and children born to HCV-positive parents are at risk of getting Hepatitis C. Dr. Jeffrey Schneider, Gastroenterologist with Baptist Health South Florida, recommends anyone with abnormal liver tests should be checked at least once for Hepatitis C.
