Diseases That Cause Skin Infections

There are several underlying diseases that can cause skin infections such as diabetes, eczema and psoriasis, HIV, Lupus and COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). Patients who have one, or more, of these conditions are more prone to skin infections, explains Dr. Nina Dieguez, Internal Medicine Physician with Baptist Health South Florida.
