Atherosclerosis and P.A.D
Dr. Bernie Fernandez, Chief Executive Officer of Baptist Health Medical Group, explains atherosclerosis is when a plaque grows and begins to interfere with blood flow and blocks the vessels.
He also says the blood flow that goes through is imputed or diminished and therefore it causes discomfort in the leg. He points out the great majority of peripheral arterial disease cases are caused by atherosclerosis.
