The survivorship program focuses on quality of life care after a patient has successfully completed his cancer treatment.
Elina Melik-Levine, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with Miami Cancer Institute, affirms It's not always appropriate for patients to preserve fertility prior to their cancer treatment. “They must be healthy enough, and their cancer can’t be one in which it is very aggressively growing or has spread to different parts of the body," she says.
Dr. John Diaz, Gynecologic Oncologist with Miami Cancer Institute, gives a hopeful message to those who have been diagnosed with cancer.
