High Blood Pressure and Heart Disease
Dr. Joshua Harris, Cardiologist and Medical Director for Cardiac Rehabilitation at Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute, explains high blood pressure can change the vasculature and the flow of the vessels to the heart, the brain, and the kidneys. This can cause a lot of different problems over time.
He says patients get their blood pressure checked before and after exercising in cardiac rehab. He points out the goal is to make sure the pressure doesn't get too high while exercising.
