Types of Hearing Loss
There are two types of hearing loss: conductive and sensorineural, explains Dr. Peter Volsky, Otolaryngologist with Baptist Health South Florida.
The expert says conductive hearing loss can be fixed and this condition is very common.
Dr. Volsky explains chronic otitis media is essentially a middle ear disease coming from after-effects of childhood ear diseases that weren’t treated, or adults with eardrum perforated or something called cholesteatoma: a cyst that grows in the ear.
