Breast Cancer Screening
Traditionally, mammograms start at age 45 once a year according to the American Cancer Society, explains Dr. Monica Suarez Kobilis, Family Medicine Physician with Baptist Health Primary Care.
He advises women to talk to their doctors about what is the best option, especially if they had a family history of breast cancer.
In some cases of dense breasts, patients can be recommended to have mammogram before age 40.
