The Stand By You Program
Dr. Ana Viamonte-Ros, Medical Director, Palliative Care and Bioethics at Baptist Health South Florida, explains the Stand by You Program of that institution that works with volunteers.
"We train volunteers in the community, especially a lot of medical students, to make sure that they understand what the end-of-life process is like and they are there for anyone that needs assistance and needs companionship, so that nobody in our system ever passes alone," she says.
