Lowering the Risks of Polypharmacy
Dr. Yvon Petiote, Family Medicine Physician with Bethesda Hospital, Baptist Health, recommends patients for lowering the risks of polypharmacy to tell their doctor if they are taking other over-the-counter medications that are not prescribed by their physician.
He also says it is important to read on the internet about a medication that someone has recommended and letting the physician know, because patients can avoid the duplication of medication.
