Anatomy of the Heart

Dr. Tarak Rambhatla, Cardiovascular Specialist with Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute, explains the heart is sitting in the chest cavity, and it has four chambers. "The bottom chambers are the pumping mechanism of the heart. They pump the blood to the whole body, and it returns back to the top section of the heart. He also says the heart has three coronary arteries that are responsible for supplying blood oxygen and nutrients to the heart muscle. When they are blocked, the heart is not able to function.
