Foundations of Well-Being
Nutrition, hydration, sleep, movement, breathing, and thinking are the foundations of health. Coach Hamad Shirazi, Holistic Health Practitioner, explains there are spiritual, emotional, mental, physical and environmental components to health and well-being.
He points out each component plays a pivotal role in achieving optimal health and well being. Lucette Talamas, Registered Dietitian with Baptist Health South Florida, highlights the food plate should have fruits and vegetables in one half, and in the other one it should have grains and proteins.
