Dr. Anna Suarez Davis, Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Baptist Hospital of Miami, explains vaginal births are the way nature intended for women to have babies. “This is healthier for baby and for mom, vaginal birth is the way that babies should be born; we are lucky to have the life-saving measure of cesarean sections when it’s necessary, but in general a vaginal delivery is the way to go,” she says.

She points out one benefit of a vaginal delivery for a baby is that their lungs get a little bit squeezed out and so there are less respiratory issues.
