Plantar Fasciitis, enemy of the heelbone |

Wayne Goldstein, Podiatric Physician at Miami Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute, explains plantar fasciitis is an inflammation around the heelbone, underneath your foot.

“There is a ligament called the plantar fascia, it is the frame work, the arch of your foot. So it starts on the heelbone and it spreads out and it goes to the front of your foot”, he says.

The problem is it is pulling against the heelbone and causes initial pain and discomfort.
