Uterine Fibroids: Symptoms |
Heavier prolonged menstrual bleeding; pain, pressure, or feeling of fullness in the pelvis, abdomen or lower back; frequent urination or constipation; pain during or bleeding after intercourse; infertility or miscarriage; and abnormally enlarged abdomen are some of the symptoms of uterine fibroids.
Dr. Rafael Perez, Medical Director of the Center for Women and Infants at South Miami Hospital, says the heavier prolonged bleeding is that it goes beyond the eight days. “Some of my patients come to me and tell me ‘Look, I’m having a period twice a month’. That is not normal, even if it was normal for you for the last year or so it is not normal. That needs to be evaluated.”
