Federal authorities have authorized another COVID-19 booster shot because of the fear that an additional wave of COVID infections could hit the US — the way it has in Europe and Asia. Medical experts say there is some evidence that immunity wanes over time so getting an additional booster shot may be a way to get ahead of the virus.
