STDs in Older Women | Smartlife
Can older adults be at risk of contracting STDs? Absolutely, says Dr. Robert Feldman. The Chief Medical Director for Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baptist Health South Florida usually gives the same advice to those who are sexually active in their 60s, 70s and 80s as he does to sexually active younger adults: “if you are sexually active and you have a new partner, you need to be tested for STDs.” Dr. Feldman touches upon the sexual challenges many older adults may encounter as they age, and the fact that “Baby Boomers” are sexually active and sexually transmitted diseases are on the rise.
