Dr Joy E Carter, DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine)
Originally from a small town in South Georgia, Dr. Joy E. Carter discovered a passion for veterinary medicine early in life. After earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Ross University in St. Kitts (2005-2008), Dr. Carter completed a clinical year at Oklahoma State University in 2009, graduating that June. Later that year, she relocated to South Florida, where she has been practicing for the past 15 years.
Specializing in emergency and specialty care, Dr. Carter has built a reputation for expertise in surgery and orthopedics. For the past 18 months, she has been part of the Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG), bringing critical care solutions to pets and peace of mind to their owners.
Outside of veterinary practice, Dr. Carter enjoys spending time with her young daughter, a Pomeranian, and a cat. Passionate about health and fitness, she is an active CrossFit enthusiast and loves traveling to attend Formula 1 races around the world.
